GOALS & PROJECTS The Cultural Competency Task Force has adopted elements of the state and local plans to end homelessness and is looking to lead the Continuum towards greater cultural competency in the provision of services. Parts of these plans include:- Establishing a complete picture of the people that the Continuum serves by using HMIS and Point in Time Data
- Conducting agency-level and Continuum-wide self-assessments in cultural competency
- Using the assessments to create regular learning opportunities
- Working towards a diverse workforce within the Continuum that reflects the population served
The task force is currently lending support to ensure the consumer survey is understandable and culturally competent.
ACHIEVEMENTS The task force hosted a language/translation training in April of 2011.
